Shirley Ann Sterling, 82, of Reedsville, passed away Friday, July 31, 2020, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Shirley was born on July 12, 1938, a daughter of the late William Gamble and Blanche (Rogers) Gamble.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.
Shirley is survived by a son, Arthur “Chip” Sterling Jr., of Reedsville; two daughters, Vicki Gamble, of Reedsville and Elizabeth Mancuso and Chris, of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Ryan Gamble and Heather, of Reedsville, Chandra Mancuso, Abbigail Mancuso and Kimberly Mancuso, all of Morgantown; five great-grandchildren, L.J. Johnson, Brier Gamble, Tucker Gamble, Nahla Mancuso and Dominic Mancuso; a brother, Robert Gamble and Beulah, of Masontown, W.Va.; four sisters, Betty Shaffer, of Charles Town, Janet Nedrow and Allen, Joanne Nedrow and Dora Nicholson, all of Masontown, W.Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Sterling Sr., in 1997; three brothers, Howard Gamble, Charles Gamble and William “Cocky” Gamble and two sisters, Sue Ellen Gamble and Mary Elouise Gamble.
Friends may call at the Field Funeral Home in Masontown, W.Va. from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 3. Funeral services will be held at the Field Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Tuesday, August 4. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Masontown, W.Va.
Due to COVID-19, safety precautions will be taken, the social distancing 6-foot rule will be honored and all guests, whose health allow, are to wear a mask. For the safety of everyone, we politely ask that visitors do not linger at the funeral home after seeing the Gamble/Sterling family.
