KINGWOOD — Preston County reported its third COVID-19 death Tuesday.
According to the Preston County Health Department, the victim was a 61-year-old. No other details were provided because of privacy laws.
The department has reported 98 confirmed cases in Preston County, along with 22 probable cases, 103 recovered and 14 active cases.
A confirmed case is someone who has tested positive for COVID-19. A probable case is a close contact of a positive case who has developed symptoms.
Recovered means a confirmed case or probable case that has finished quarantine and has been symptom free for last 72 hours without medication. They are cleared to resume normal activity. An active case is a confirmed case or probable case that has not meet criteria of recovered.
