Kenneth “Shake” Bruce Thomas Jr., 66, of Terra Alta, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, July 21, 2020.
Born on Aug. 11, 1953, in Oakland, Md., he was the son of Dorothy and the late Kenneth “Shakespeare” Bruce Thomas Sr.
Shake was a 1971 graduate of Terra Alta High School, and later retired from Hopemont Hospital in 2016 after 30 years of service.
He loved muscle cars, putting together Chevy models, playing cards and donating his time at his church, Crellin United Brethren in Christ. Shake was an avid Steelers fan, and he dearly loved socializing from his front porch. He never met a stranger, and his jolly personality will be missed by all.
Shake is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ima (Brown) Thomas; his daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Matt Rinehart; and three very special grandsons, Garrett, Maddox and Colton Rinehart. He is also survived by a sister, Virginia (Bob) Snyder; a brother, Tim (Carol) Thomas; a brother, Randy Thomas; a sister, Gloria Thomas; and many loved brothers- and sisters-in law, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Scotty.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Crellin United Brethren in Christ, in Crellin, Md. at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020.
Memorial donations may be made to either the Terra Alta Volunteer Fire Department, or the Terra Alta Ambulance Squad. The family would like to express their sincerest appreciation to both organizations for their exemplary service.
