Betty Jean Belanger, 89, of Bruceton Mills (Clifton community), passed away Monday, July 6, 2020, at the South Fayette Nursing Center (Quality Life Services) in Markleysburg, Pa.
The daughter of the late Benjamin and Rosa Fike Benson, she was born Sept. 28, 1930, in Clifton Mills.
She was a member of the Clifton Church of the Brethren, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Woodmen of the World. She had been receiving care from Amedisys Hospice and a special nurse, Penny Martin.
Betty is survived by a daughter and her spouse, Sandy and Jeff Rosenberger, of Bruceton Mills; five sons and their spouses, of Bruceton Mills, Larry and Loretta Belanger, Gary and Tracy Belanger, Bradley and Heather Belanger, Jeffrey and Anna Mae Belanger and Jan and Zelda Belanger; a brother and his spouse, Dale and Helen Benson, of Bruceton Mills; two sisters, Elsie Gibson and her husband Carl, of Parma, Ohio, and Janet Summers, of Bruceton Mills; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Benson and Donna Benson; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Betty was predeceased by her husband, George F. Belanger; a son, Terry Belanger; two brothers, Robert Benson and Hobert Benson; two sisters, Sarah Lou Ditmore and Doris Rosenberger; a granddaughter, Mackenzi Belanger; a daughter-in-law, Denise Belanger; and three brothers-in-law, Delbert Summers, Glenn Ditmore and Dick Rosenberger.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2020, with a graveside funeral service to follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Bruceton Mills, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Barry Adkins officiating.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone attending the visitation is asked to practice physical distancing and to wear a mask.
