Two Fairmont men accused of murdering a West Virginia University student were arraigned in Monongalia Count Circuit Court on Tuesday.
Terrell Linear, 21 and Shaundarius Reeder, 20 are each charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
The two were both indicted by the June 2020 term of the Monongalia County grand jury which returned 79 indictments.
Judge Susan Tucker was assigned 22 cases from the most recent grand jury and heard the not guilty plea of both men at their arraignment on Tuesday.
Reeder and Linear both appeared by video from North Central Regional Jail where they are being held without bond.
Parkersburg attorney George Cosenza represents Linear and attorney William Summers, also of Parkersburg, represents Reeder. Both attorneys are retained and appeared in person on Tuesday.
The two are accused of shooting WVU student Eric Smith, 21, of Clementon, N.J., on Feb. 28 inside an apartment building at College Park.
It was previously reported that officers found Smith dead in the hallway when they arrived.
Linear told police he entered the building, pounded on multiple apartment doors so people could witness him shooting and killing the victim, then shot Smith multiple times when he opened the door, according to a criminal complaint.
