Bonnie Lee McDonald Shisler, 69, of Morgantown, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 27, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Dec. 15, 1950, in Uniontown, Pa., to the late Clyde McDonald and Grace McDonald Cordwell.
She was a faithful member of the Riverside Apostolic Church, where she greeted everyone with a welcoming smile, hug or a handshake.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lloyd ‘Buck’ Shisler Sr.; her infant brother, Guy McDonald; and her sisters, Ruth McDonald Davis and Delores McDonald Exline.
She will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Lloyd Shisler Jr., and wife Belinda Aronhalt Shisler, of Morgantown, Catherine Shisler Cooper and husband Michael, of Huron, Ohio, Jeffrey Allan Shisler and wife Linda Reed Shisler, of Morgantown, and Michael Scott Shisler, of Morgantown. Bonnie was blessed with seven grandchildren, Joshua (Rachel) Shisler, Erica (Jason) Shisler Whetzel, Heidi, Jeffrey Jr. and Jacob Shisler and Holly and Caitlin Cooper; and three great-grandchildren, Ryder and Grayson Shisler and Tyler Whetzel.
Also surviving are her siblings, Chuck (Karen) McDonald, Clyde (Vicky) McDonald, Alan (Scarlet) McDonald, all of Morgantown, and Tena (Dave) Tidd, of Elkhart, Ind.; brother-in-law, Don Davis; sisters-in-law, Freda (Tom) Keyser, Marie Shisler, Jacqueline Shisler, all of Morgantown, Ida Taft, of Collins, Ohio, Bonnie Crawford, of Sandusky, Ohio, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bonnie loved her family, dearly. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who always thought of everyone else’s needs before her own.
Visitation with proper social distancing guidelines will be held at Riverside Ministries, 4234 Dents Run Blvd. Morgantown, WV 26501 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 30, and again from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Nathaniel Hudson officiating. Bonnie will be laid to rest beside her husband at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
