Carolyn Johnson, 72, a resident of Volga, went to be with her Lord on Friday June 26, 2020, at her residence. Carolyn was born Sept. 14, 1947, in Preston County, a daughter of the late Willis Ray and Francis Lucille (Lipscomb) Freeland.
Carolyn was united in marriage on Sept. 7, 1966, to Robert Lee Johnson who preceded her in death on Sept. 18, 2008.
Carolyn retired as a health care provider for Holbrooks Nursing Home in Buckhannon. She volunteered at the Clothes Closet in Buckhannon. Carolyn was a member of the Queen’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving is daughter Lisa Streets and husband Lester, of Volga; sons, Robert Lee Johnson II and wife Cindy, Michael Johnson and wife Amy, both of Volga; sisters, Ruth Groves and husband Kenny, Dorotha Adams, Doris Lewis, Vickki Freeland; brothers, Arthur Bud Freeland and wife Linda, Charles Freeland and wife Marilyn, all of Tera Alta. 11 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Carolyn was preceded in death by two sister-in-laws, three brother-in-laws, father-in-law, mother-in-law, one niece and one nephew.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home and Crematory from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday June 29. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., with Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in the Nicholson Cemetery.
