William Miller

William J. (Bill) Miller, 74, of Albright (Hudson community), died Saturday, June 13, 2020, at his home with his family at his side.
The son of the late William Robert and Inez Irene Wilhelm Miller, he was born Sept. 1, 1945, in Albright.

Bill was a proud coal truck driver for many years and worked at the Preston County Senior Center for the last 25 years until the time of his illness. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a longtime member of the Bruceton-Brandonville Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carole Savage Miller; two sons and their spouses, Anthony, “Big T,” and Kelley Miller and Chad and Julie Miller, of Bruceton Mills; a sister and her husband, Patty and Roger Moats, of Smithfield, Pa.; three grandchildren: Brandy Ridenour and her husband, Donald, Cordell Miller and Carter Miller; a special cousin and caregiver, Linda Graham; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, Sassy and D.C.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin sons, Michael Arthur and Markel Noah; brothers, Gary Miller and Glenn Miller; sisters, Oleda Layman and Carolyn Myott; and father- and mother-in-law, William and Erma Savage.

Family and friends may call at the Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills, from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 16 and from 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 17 until the 11 a.m. graveside memorial service and burial at the Cress Cemetery in Hudson, with Pastor Craig Bolyard officiating.

Guests are invited to visit; however, they are strongly urged to abide by CDC pandemic guidelines which include social distancing, wearing masks and avoiding contact with others.
