Even though West Virginia University recently furloughed 875 employees last month to help plug an estimated $30 million budget shortfall, work is progressing on Reynolds Hall, the new home of the university’s John Chambers College of Business and Economics.
The $100 million project is being built on the site of the former Stansbury Hall. The 180,000-square-foot building is expected to be ready for occupancy by 2022. It is named for WVU alumnus and financier Robert Reynolds and his wife, Laura, who provided a $10 million gift to help finance construction.
The building will house 175 faculty and staff offices, three computer labs, eight classrooms and a 300-seat auditorium.
