A Morgantown man is facing additional charges after he allegedly attacked deputies who were at his home to serve an arrest warrant.
Jon R. Langley, 24, is charged with attempting to disarm an officer.
The warrant was for destruction of property, public intoxication and obstructing an officer, according to Sheriff Perry Palmer.
On Thursday, two deputies, J. Morgan and R. Stockett, went to a home on Rock Forge Lane and spoke with a man who said he was not Langley, after the deputies said they were looking for him.
Deputies asked where Langley was and the man said, “in here,” according to the complaint. The two deputies entered the apartment and walked through a few rooms until they encountered another man who said his name was Adam.
While attempting to cuff him, Langley jerked out of Morgan’s hands and started to run for the front door, the complaint said. Morgan chased him and tackled him in a narrow hallway and was headbutted twice — in the face and nose.
Morgan pulled his Taser and used it on Langley’s side while getting up, but the two fell back to the ground, the complaint said. Langley took the Taser, stood up screaming and used it, hitting Morgan in the left forearm as he lunged to get the weapon back.
Morgan punched Langley, got him back on the ground and subdued him until Stockett was able to cuff him, according to the complaint.
Palmer said both deputies went to the hospital but were OK.
Langley was taken directly to North Central Regional Jail. He was then transported to the hospital in Clarksburg, Palmer said.
Langley is being held on $75,000 bond.
