Online and at-home activities to be included on lineup
Although traditional 4-H camps won’t take place in-person this year, WVU Extension Service’s 4-H Youth Development program will be connecting 4-H’ers via Camp URL (You Are Linked).
At Monongalia Camp 4-H Camp From Afar URL, youth will have an opportunity to take part in some traditional 4-H residential camp activities, such as virtual assemblies and service projects.
Faculty and staff also worked to bring youths educational and outreach opportunities such as STEM activities, outdoor recreation, virtual experiences and arts/crafts.
In Monongalia County, camp kits will be offered to those who register. The kits will include various items that can help to complete the activities that will be part of the virtual camp experience.
There are activities, education and events geared toward all age groups. All of these activities are free to all West Virginia youth.
This camp is open to youth who are 4-H membership ages. The 4-H Year is Oct. 1, 2019-Sept. 30, 2020. If your child turns 9 during this time frame up until the age of 21, he or she is welcome to register for virtual 4-H camp.
Camp will be July 13-17 and will be a blend of daily activities for youth to connect to via electronic device, as well as activities that will be completed by the youth at home.
Camp URL participants will be able to earn virtual badges for completing head, heart, hands and health activities. And, individuals who meet all required activities will be eligible to receive a one-time, commemorative headband at the conclusion of the summer season.
Registration is now open and will run until June 5. To register, you must enroll through the
4-H enrollment database. Visit https://4h.zsuite.org/ and complete the enrollment process, if you are not already a 4-H member. Once enrolled, you will be able to register for the event through zsuites.
