Nicole Victoria Markusic, 48, of Nashua, N.H., formerly of Morgantown, passed away suddenly on May 19, 2020.
She graduated from St. Francis High School in 1990 and attended Potomac State College and Fairmont State College. In the 1990s, she was an on-air personality for WMQC (Magic 101) in Morgantown. She began her career in the travel industry as a customer service agent at Cruises Only in Orlando, Fla. Since 2011, she was employed as a customer service agent for Southwest Airlines in Manchester, New Hampshire and served as a diversity ambassador for the company for many years.
Nicole loved traveling and especially enjoyed cruising. Her many adventures included a cruise from Paris to the Caribbean with her friends and her sister. She travelled all over the United States as well, with frequent trips home to visit her family. She was an incredibly loving and supportive aunt who flew everywhere to be there for special occasions for her nieces and nephews. She was an avid Mountaineer and Steelers fan and was devoted to her sweet dog, Gidget.
She is survived by her parents, John and Mary Anne Markusic, of Port Orange, Fla., and her sister, Stephanie (Craig) Hales, of Orlando, Fla. She is also survived by godmother, Victoria Petitte Conner, and godfather, John Hugo.
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals: ASPCA Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 96929, Washington, D.C. 20077-7127.
A memorial graveside service will be held at East Oak Grove Cemetery at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 23 with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, STD, VE. officiating.
