Email, text for quick, personal consideration for crew, managment

McDonald’s restaurants in Morgantown are offering at least 70 new employment opportunities for displaced workers.

Beginning today, all six local restaurants will begin a quick-hire initiative to provide immediate crew and manager positions for neighborhood residents who are facing financial hardship. The restaurant locations include:

  • 2932 University Ave
  • 19 Commerce Drive
  • 1820 Sturges Street
  • 11 Chaplin Road
  • 351 Suncrest Town Center Road
  • 100 Foxtown Road

“We are in a very difficult and uncertain time,” said owner/operator John Ebert. “Because the local economy has taken a major hit, I am announcing this initiative to immediately provide work for those who need it most.”
He noted that because his restaurants are essential and popular among local residents, he’s able to provide stable, full- and part-time employment opportunities. Some restaurants also offer hours on the overnight shift.

For immediate, personal consideration, send an email to Jodi Richards, Operations Director for Ebert’s organization at jodi.richards@us.stores.mcd.com. To apply via text, text 38000 with the appropriate restaurant code:

“We offer flexible scheduling, competitive pay, and free employee meals. I’m proud of our terrific education program that gives tuition money to all employees who want to continue their education,” he said. “In fact, in the last year, McDonald’s awarded almost $105,000 in Archways To Opportunity scholarships to employees at the locations in Morgantown.”

Richards exemplifies the value McDonald’s Archways to Opportunity scholarships can provide to workers. She began as a McDonald’s crew person. While advancing through restaurant and then consulting positions with McDonald’s, Richards also took advantage of the tuition scholarship program. A 2016 graduate of West Liberty University, she’s continuing to use Archways to Opportunity scholarships to complete her MBA.

“The McDonald’s scholarships have been life changing for me,” Richards said. “With so much support from McDonald’s, I’ve been able to reach both my career and my education goals. I’m looking forward to bringing on new employees who can also take advantage of this incredible program.”
