A home on Lazzelle Union Road was damaged in a fire on Friday.
A bedroom and some of the kitchen were damaged by the fire before it was extinguished, according to Granville Volunteer Fire Department Deputy Chief Brian Renner.
The woman who lives in the home escaped before firefighters arrived and did not need to be taken to the hospital, Renner said.
The department was called to the scene, just before Keenan Road, at 11:51 a.m. and were back at the station about 3 p.m., Renner said.
Westover Volunteer Fire Department, Star City Volunteer Fire Department, Mon EMS and the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department also responded.
