Donald Roy Johnson, 72, of Bruceton Mills, died Wednesday, May 6, 2020, at his home.
The son of the late Albert M. and Nellie Bly Teets Everly Johnson, he was born Febr. 13, 1948, at Morgantown.
Donald was a member of the Laurel Mountain Baptist Church, a Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War, life-time member of DAV, a dairy farmer and construction worker. He loved fishing, hunting, painting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Watring Johnson; three sons, Albert Johnson and his companion Laura Sanetrik, Donald Johnson Jr. and his wife, Roberta and Samuel Johnson and his wife, Andrea; a daughter, Rosemary Newman and her husband, Sam; grandchildren, Maria and A.J. Johnson, Seth Johnson, David Dufoe, Johnathan and Clinton Newman, Caitlynn and Ella Johnson; special niece and her husband, Kathy and Reid Evans; many other nieces, nephews and friends; and sisters-in-law: Wilma Scofield, Thelma Bowling and Sherry Haidet.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Lillian and Earl Watring; and brothers and sisters, Mary Lou Lewis, Bobby Everly, Charles Johnson, Nelson Johnson, Bob Johnson, Eleanor Hayward and Ginny Emerson.
A celebration of Life service will be held at East View Cemetery, Bruceton Mills at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8 with Jess Rice officiating.
Military graveside honors will be provided by the Preston County Honor Guard.
Carl R. Spear Funeral Home in Brandonville-Bruceton Mills will be assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
