Charles Cameron King Jr., 84, of Capon Bridge, died on Thursday, April 30, 2020, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Charles was born on Aug. 16, 1935, in Mt. Morris, Pa., the son of the late Charles C. King Sr. and Nannie N. Kennedy King. He was a firefighter for the City of Morgantown for 11 years and a security guard for General Motors in Martinsburg. He was a member of the Capon Bridge United Methodist Church, the Capon Bridge Senior Center and a past member of the Moose and Elks Clubs. Charles loved watching sports, eating ice cream, being at the Senior Center and his family.
Charles married Nancy L. Adams King. Nancy died on Aug. 4, 2009.
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy S. King Weidman (Drew) and Bettina J. “B.J.” King (Bill Parker), both of Martinsburg; four grandchildren, Amy, C.D., Sarah and Gabrielle; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a son: Charles C. “Chuck” King III.
A graveside service will be held at the Capon Chapel Cemetery near Capon Bridge at 2 p.m. Monday, May 4. Officiating will be Pastor Alanna McGuinn. A celebration of Charles’s life will be held at a later date.
