The woman shot and killed at Babbling Brook Estates on Wednesday has been identified as 51 year old Tamatha Pillo.
According to Monongalia County Sheriff Perry Palmer, her stepfather, Donald Davis, 73, reported a domestic incident which resulted in Pillo, his stepdaughter, sustaining a single gunshot wound to the chest with a .380 caliber pistol.
Pillo was taken to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital by Mon EMS where she died of her wound.
The incident is still under a “full blown” investigation and additional details are not being released at this time, Palmer said.
The department is looking into things such as if it was self defense or if there were previous incidents involving those people.
