Shirley Jane Buzzo, 81, of Morgantown, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at WVU Medicine, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born in Morgantown on May 30, 1938, a daughter of the late Luther and Hulda Carpenter Crites.
Shirley enjoyed shopping and also spending time in the outdoors where she would plant flowers and garden. She loved having company over and family gatherings, and she took pride in cooking for everyone. Shirley was also a member of Riverside Apostolic Church.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Vivian Mogyoros and Sharon Gyorko, both of Morgantown; sons, Rick Buzzo (Belinda Lawson), Danny Buzzo, Kenny Buzzo, Chip Buzzo (Dawn) and Timothy Buzzo (Barbara), all of Morgantown; sister, Pearl Richards, of Ohio; grandchildren, Charity, Joseph, Eric, Matthew, Brittany, Holly, Krystal, Briana, Melissa, Josh, Justin, Carmen, Melissa, Chip II, Cash, Casey and Emily; and 22 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Buzzo; grandchildren, Jeremy and Alisha; and several brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to thank all caregivers who helped in Shirley’s care, but especially, her niece, Betty Ann Amos, Arlene Harper, and Belinda Lawson. Also, thank you to WVU Medicine, Dr. Cora Darragh, WV Caring Hospice, Stonerise at Home and Care Partners.
Due to COVID-19, private services were held with the Rev. E.S. Harper officiating with entombment at Beverly Hills Mausoleum. McCulla Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
