A Mount Morris, Pa., man was charged with numerous crimes after he allegedly assaulted his estranged wife on Sunday.
There was a warrant out for similar charges for a March incident.
Logan Cory Ice, 27, was charged with two counts of domestic assault, two counts of domestic battery, two counts of brandishing and one count of unlawful restraint. An active sexual assault investigation is also under way.
One of each count and the unlawful restraint charge are for the March incident.
Just before 9 a.m. Sunday, a West Virginia State Police trooper went to Hornbeck Road because a 911 dispatcher said there was an open 911 call with a woman screaming for help in the background, according to a criminal complaint.
While the trooper was on his way, the woman told 911 her estranged husband, Ice, assaulted her and left in a vehicle, the complaint said.
The victim was “highly emotional and crying” when the trooper arrived, the complaint said.
In a written statement by the victim, she said she came home from work about 7:30 a.m. to find Ice, who was watching their kids, in the garage with her dog. Ice was upset the dog was barking all night, the complaint said.
The victim was showering when she heard the bathroom door open and Ice come in, get undressed and ask her who she was talking to on Snapchat. Ice attempted to go through the victim’s phone, but was told to get out, that he wasn’t going to shower with her, the complaint said.
Ice got into the shower, placed the victim in a “choke hold” while covering her mouth, threw the victim to the floor of the tub and got on top of her, touching her inappropriately, the complaint said.
The victim escaped, but Ice grabbed her and threw her to the bathroom floor, the complaint said. Ice put his hand down her throat to make her gag and tried to again touch her inappropriately.
Ice stopped and the victim asked him to “please leave” but Ice pulled out a knife, told her to stop screaming or he would cut her throat. He eventually called for a ride and left, according to the complaint.
Multiple children were home at the time of the incident, the complaint said.
Ice was found by state police as a passenger in a vehicle at the Go Mart across from Middletown Homes on Grafton Road about 9:30 a.m.
Ice has a warrant requesting extradition from Greene County, Pa., and four warrants through the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department, which responded to an incident in March.
A knife was also held to the victim’s throat in that incident, according to a criminal complaint.
Ice was taken to North Central Regional Jail following his arrest and was arraigned on Monday afternoon by Magistrate Sandy Holepit. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
