Morgantown Utility Board crews continue working on the Flegal Dam and Reservoir project. This is the Don Knotts Boulevard phase of the project through White Park, where large pipes are being installed underground.
The $50 million project, which MUB Director of Communications Chris Dale said is 26% complete according to contract price, is about a year behind schedule. It is estimated to be complete in fall or winter 2021.
“We are working with the contractor to prevent further delay and hopefully recover some of the current delay,” he said, via email.
The new reservoir will hold 370 million gallons of water, a 30-day supply. It stretches about 4,500 feet southeastward in the valley between Grafton Road and Kingwood Pike — along Cobun Creek Road and following the lines of Cobun Creek and Mountain Run.
