W.Va. 7 Intersection Work

Reconstruction work has begun at the intersection of Green Bag Road (CR 857) and Earl L. Core Road (W.Va. 7).

The West Virginia Division of Highways stated in a release that a small portion of Green Bag Road, near the intersection, will be closed to motorists and a detour will be provided. Access to businesses along the road will remain open.

The road is closed just before the intersection with Deckers Creek Trail, near CVS.

Lane closures on Earl L. Core Road can be expected periodically through the life of the project, the end date of which has yet to be determined.

The traffic lights at Earl L. Core and Mineral have been activated while those at Hardees/CVS have been removed.

The DOH advises that there will be traffic delays and encourages motorists to use the detour or find alternate routes.

The Mon River Trails Conservancy announced via social media that the Deckers Creek Trail will remain open during the construction, though there may be a slight shift of the trail at the Green Bag Road crossing near Mile 2 that will be clearly marked.

Green Bag Road is closed between Classic’s and Deckers Creek Trail.
Looking across Sabraton behinf Hardees at the intersection, detour comes through Hardees parking lot.
