Mary Hiser, 73, of Morgantown, was called home unexpectedly on Sunday, April 19, 2020, with her loving family by her side. She was born July 17, 1946, in Cascade, to the late Otis and Hester (Johnson) Goodwin.
She is survived by her sons, Harry Lee Hiser III and wife Cathy, of Morgantown, and Timothy John Hiser and wife Tonya, of Cheat Lake; daughters, Jill (Hiser) Eaglen and husband James, and Holly (Hiser) Blosser, of Morgantown; sister, Jo Ann Mathess; brother, Lawrence Johnson, of Morgantown; and grandchildren, Kirsten Hiser, of Yorktown, Va., Austin Brotherton, Sarah, and Kyle Eaglen, Kaeden Ralston, Olivia and Lauren Gross and Travis Brotherton, of West Virginia.
Mary is also survived by nieces that were like daughters to her: Kim (Mathess) Given, Tammy (Mathess) Hehnly, Tina Johnson and Melissa (Bosley) Marshall. She will also be missed by close relatives Sue Davis (and family), of Morgantown, and Deb Moore (and family), of Ohio.
Mary was a loving, caring woman who took pride in caring for her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending her time around loved ones and working in her flower garden. Mary was a caretaker to many, including her mom, Hester Goodwin, her aunt, Elizabeth Riley, friend, Chris Fazenbaker, her sister, Susie Bosley, and her husband, Harry Hiser Jr.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband Harry Hiser Jr., sister, Susie Bosley and her brother, Jimmy Goodwin.
Fred L. Jenkins Funeral Home is assisting the family with private services. Due to COVID-19 there will be a celebration of life at a later date. Mary will be laid to rest beside her husband at the Pleasant Hills Cemetery, South Pierpont Road.
