Junior Robert Garfield Upperman, 76, of Tunnelton, died on Friday, April 10, 2020, at Preston Memorial Hospital.
Junior was born Aug. 3, 1943, in Albright, a son of the late Ben and Nellie V. (Brewer) Upperman.
He retired in 2002 after working over 15 years for Preston Sanitation. He was a member of the Tunnelton Volunteer Fire Department and the Isaak Walton League. Junior enjoyed hunting, fishing, cutting grass and going ramp hunting.
He is survived by three sons and spouses, Robert Upperman, Earl and Sylvia McCormick, James and Bonnie McCormick, all of Tunnelton; three daughters, Joyce McCormick, Nellie Upperman and Laura Upperman, all of Tunnelton; five grandchildren, Tammy and Wesley Parker, Jessica McCormick and fiancé, Dr. Dan Farmer, Chrissie McCarty and Scott Pifer, Amanda and Johnathan Friend, Ellen Upperman; and nine great-grandchildren, Wesley, Mason, Trinity, Shyann, Abby, Kenzie, Payton, Alexander and Alexis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Betty Jane Upperman; one brother, Ben Upperman; and one sister, Pansy Syrus.
Under the direction of Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel, a graveside service will be held at the Denver-Shaw Cemetery at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, with the Rev. Ray Frankhouser officiating.
