A third Sundale Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care resident with a confirmed case of COVID-19 died Friday morning at the health care facility.
The resident was a woman in her 80s, said Donna Tennant, Sundale’s admissions and marketing director.
There are five confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the state, excluding the most recent death at Sundale. Half of the state’s COVID-19 deaths were residents of Sundale.
The 20 positive COVID-19 residents tested this week will be retested next week. Nine staff members who have tested positive twice for the novel coronavirus will be retested as well.
Friday’s death may not be reflected in numbers confirmed by the Monongalia County Health Department or the state Department of Health and Human Services, as that process sometimes takes a day or two.
