She was born in Vestaburg, Pa., on Nov. 19, 1919, to the late Lida Grace (St. Clair) Weiland and John George Weiland. Her family moved to West Virginia when she was a senior at University High School and she remained in Morgantown for the rest of her life. She was predeceased by her loving husband in 2008, four siblings and one grandchild.

Martina was a good neighbor and devoted friend to all who knew her. She raised her children and helped with farm activities while participating in community events. Always active with anything church related and those who needed help in the community knew who to call. Food was always available to those in need with a simple call.

The burial took place on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, in WV National Cemetery, Pruntytown, WV, with her husband, a veteran of WWII. A memorial will take place at a later date with McCulla funeral home handling arrangements.
