James Everett ‘Jim’ Walls, 80, of Morgantown, passed away at home unexpectedly on Sunday, April 5, 2020. He was born July 22, 1939, in Morgantown, a son to Everett and Juanita Walls. Jim retired WVU, Housing Department and got to work babysitting.
Jim graduated from University High School. Jim was a huge Mountaineer fan of both basketball and football. He was a season ticket holder of more than 50 years. He also coached many little leaguers at Wes Mon Baseball League over 25 years. He taught many children the fundamentals of baseball, both on and off the field. He will be remembered for his work ethic and passion for good competition.
Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years, Nancy Wolfe Walls; two sons, Mike Walls and wife Tina, of San Antonio, and David Walls and wife Nadine, of Morgantown; three sisters, Sharon Lynch and husband Butch, Carrie Leach and husband Jim and Juanita Hilling and husband Terry; two brothers, Kenny Walls and Glenn Walls, all of Morgantown; four grandchildren, Amanda Goins and husband R.J., Terrance and Anthony Thomas, Chris Walls and Gary and Will Hollis; and three great-grandchildren, Ariana, Kaylyn, Thaddeus and one great-grandson on the way.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, Jimmy Walls, and three brothers: Tommy Walls, Don Walls and Bobby Walls.
Private services for Jim will be held at the Fred L. Jenkins Chapel of Prayer officiated by the Rev. Raymond Morris. Jim will be laid to rest at the Olive Cemetery. The family will cherish your stories and memories of Jim shared on his digital register.
