James “Mike” Sheets, 58, of Newburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at home with family by his side. He was born Feb. 9, 1962, in Grafton, son of James “Jimmy” Ray and Carole Jean Sapp Sheets, of Newburg.
Mike graduated from West Preston High School, Class of 1980. He had worked for Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Company in Fairmont.
Mike is survived by one son, Christopher Ray Sheets, of Morgantown; two stepsons, Willie Corley and Tammy, of Tunnelton, and Christopher James Sypolt and Erica, of Kingwood; two step-grandchildren, Waylon Sypolt and Scarlett Corley; two brothers, Brian “Pat” Sheets and Crissy, of Lakeland, Fla., Todd Sheets and Daphne, of Morgantown; one sister, Julie Hall and Ralph Phillips, of Newburg; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike is preceded in death by one brother, Barry Wayne Sheets.
The family would like to thank WV Caring for all the love and support during this difficult time. Per his request, he will be cremated. Bolyard Funeral Home and Cremation is handling the arrangements for the Sheets family.
