Rose Patricia (Ryan) Dougherty, 81, of Kingwood, died on Monday, March 23, 2020, with her family by her side at Pine Ridge in Kingwood.
Pat was born Nov. 2, 1938, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Daniel John and Rose Matilda (Myers) Ryan.
From 1973 until 1980, she worked for Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, N.J., as an admissions officer and as a unit secretary in the emergency room. She worked from 1980 until 2009 at Garrett Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Md., as a unit secretary. After her retirement, Pat did massage therapy for Preston Memorial Hospital. Pat enjoyed quilting, going out to eat with family and playing the Dulcimer, which she taught herself to play.
She is survived by one son and spouse, William Ryan and Heather Dougherty, of Finleyville, Pa.; three daughters and spouses, Cathy and John Strohmenger, of Rumson, N.J., Tina and Rick Hawco, of Oaklyn, N.J., Susan and Andy Knotts, of Kingwood; one sister and spouse, Catherine and Jim Skokowski; seven grandchildren, Michael Hawco, Caitlyn Hawco, Allison Hawco, J.D. Strohmenger, Joe Strohmenger, Emily Knotts and Eleanor Dougherty; and one great-grandchild, Damon Hawco.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Reynolds Dougherty.
A graveside service will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26, with Father Andy Switzer officiating. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
