Former West Virginia safety Dravon Askew-Henry signs with New York Giants

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Former WVU safety Dravon Askew-Henry, after a short stint with the New York Guardians of the XFL, reportedly signed a two-year deal with the New York Giants.

Askew-Henry was a four-year starter at safety for the Mountaineers from 2014-18. He started at free safety in 2014 and 2015, but tore his ACL prior to the 2016 season. He bounced back and earned the starting free safety spot in 2017 and eventually moved to bandit in 2018, owning a school record with 51 starters in his career.

Askew-Henry, a Pittsburgh native, originally signed as an undrafted free agent to the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jacksonville Jaguars and New England Patriots, but was cut before last season began.

Askew-Henry played in all five games for the Guardians this season and is expected to get a shot as either a safety or nickel cornerback with the Giants.
