The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention made recommendations to funeral homes for public visitation or funeral service in a funeral home or other facility.
- No more than 50 people should be in the facility at any given time, including family members and their guests.
- Social distancing between persons at a distance of 6 feet should be observed
- Refrain from offering physical condolences such as handshakes, hugs, kissing, etc.
- Indoor funeral services should be held privately for immediate family members.
- If you traveled outside of the country in the last two weeks, have recently been ill or have shown symptoms, consider not attending these events in person, but send condolences to the family either by a funeral home’s website or by mail.
