Area event cancellations due to virus concerns

MORGANTOWN — These events have been canceled or postponed due to coronavirus concerns:

— McGrew Society Pie Sale set for April 2 has been postponed.

— Gallery 62 West in Grafton will remained closed through April.

— Banff Mountain Film Fest set for April 2 at the Met Theatre is postponed.

— April Arts Walk set for April 3 is canceled.

— Animal Friends canceled its annual canine egg fetch scheduled for April 4. A spring egg fetch will be held later.

— Morgantown Shootout set for April 4 at Defense in Depth is rescheduled to June 27.

— The Spring Bazaar set for April 4 at Suncrest United Methodist Church, 479 Van Voorhis Road, is canceled.

— The Kingwood Lions Club postponed the April 4 Big Bucks Bingo.

— Morgantown High School Band’s designer bag bingo set for April 5 is postponed.

— WV Caring’s Spring Bingo set for April 4 and May 2 at Masontown VFD are canceled. These were regularly scheduled bingos. Once the pandemic runs its course, WV Caring expects to host the bingos for the remainder of 2020. Info: Call Kim or Misty at 304-864-0884 or 1-800-350-1161.

— Cheat Lake VFD’s monthly public business meeting regularly scheduled for April 9 is canceled.

— The Westover Volunteer Fire Department Gun Bash set for April 11 has been postponed to a later date TBA. All tickets already sold will be honored at the rescheduled event.

— Pleasant Valley PSD’s regularly scheduled board meeting for April 14 is postponed.

— The Preston County Association of Retired School Employees has cancelled its April 14 meeting. Political candidates who made reservations for lunch do not need to call and cancel the reservations.

— WV Caring’s North Preston Health Fair with Bonnie’s Bus, set for April 18, is canceled. Info: Call Kim or Misty at 304-864-0884 or 1-800-350-1161.

— The Kingwood Womens Civic Club’s April 18 calendar party is canceled.

— The Preston County Historical Society Spring Luncheon set for April 25 is canceled.

— Chocolate Lover’s Day, set for April 25, is canceled.

— Cheat Lake VFD has rescheduled its Annual Gun Bash from April 25 to Aug. 1. Tickets already purchased will be honored at the door Aug. 1. The times and prizes are the same. To purchase a ticket or ask a question call Harvey 304-276-2833.

— The April 30 Morgantown Heart Walk, sponsored by the American Heart Association, is postponed.

— The Indigo Girls concert scheduled for May 1 at the WVU Creative Arts Center has been postponed. Tickets for the show will be honored at a rescheduled date in fall 2020 to be announced. Additional information will be posted at events.wvu.edu as soon as the new date is available. Patrons are asked to hold on to their tickets for the May 1 show until the new date is announced. If ticket-holders are unable to attend the rescheduled date, refunds may be requested by calling your point of purchase. Ticket-holders with questions about the refund process may call 304-293-SHOW (7469).

— Cheat River Festival set for May 1-2 is canceled.

— The Friends of Central Preston Band Gun Bash has been rescheduled to May 9.

— Zenclay Cafe and Studio, at 2862 University Ave., is closed until further notice.

— Cheat Lake VFD’s event hall is closed to the public until further notice.

— Monongalia County circuit clerk’s office is closed to the public.

— AA meetings on Saturday mornings at St. Francis, Saturday and Wednesday evenings at Saint John’s Potter’s Cellar, Friday evenings at Foundry Church, and all Preston County groups, except Bruceton Mills, are canceled until further notice.

— All events and programs at Artistry House are canceled.

— Morgantown Art Association canceled all activities that were scheduled through May 1.

— The Preston County Chamber of Commerce will not hold any public meetings or events until further notice.

— The Craig Civic Center in Kingwood will not host any large gatherings.

— Star City council meetings are canceled until further notice.

— All American Grand Bash at Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan Park is rescheduled for July 25.

— The Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center in Clarksburg is postponing/rescheduling all public events through April 12. All events after that date are moving forward as originally planned at this time.

— Mon Health Medical Center has canceled rotary multiphasics set for May 16 at Clear Mountain Bank locations in Sabraton and Bruceton Mills and Mon Health Primary Care in Core. The Tucker County Health Fair set for April 18 at Canaan Valley Resort is also canceled.

— The Masontown Volunteer Fire Department Gun Bash is rescheduled for June 20. Tickets are still available. Tickets sold at Belldina’s Pharmacy, Sportsmans Refuge, or by calling 304-290-4210 or 304-698-6505.

— Morgantown Ronald McDonald House temporarily suspended volunteer programs, including meal programs, house warmer program, individual and group volunteer activities and closed the Houses to visitors.

— Senior Monongalians suspended all in-center events and daily activities until further notice. In-home personal care and respite services will continue as scheduled. Home-delivered meals will continue as usual. As of Friday, the in-center nutrition service will continue to offer a daily lunch at the center from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Reservations are required by 10 a.m. each day. The number of meals available each day is limited. Call 304-296-9812.

— The Monongahela Master Naturalist chapter postponed classes until at least late April. For more information email ellen1121@comcast.net.
