Mabel Mildred Wiles, 97, of Tunnelton, died on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown.
Mabel was born Jan. 3, 1923 in Etam, a daughter of the late William Henry and Stella Blanche (Bolyard) ClineMabel belonged to the Tunnelton Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school; she loved gardening, reading and working crossword puzzles.
She is survived by two sons and spouse, William Wiles of St. Augustine, Fla., Richard and Athleen Wiles, of Pine Grove, Ky.; one daughter, Shirley (Wiles) Fortuna, of Bruceton Mills; two sisters, Alice Shannon of Del., and Lucille Beavers, of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, Catey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arlie Gaylord Wiles; one daughter-in-law, Susan Williams; two sons-in-law, Thomas Fortuna and Donald Livengood; one granddaughter, Michelle Wiles Douthit; four sisters, Genevieve Pentony, Ruth Mercure, Orpha Harkins and Opel Mercure.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel; 295 South Price St. from 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 6, until the time of the funeral in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Strahin officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. View Cemetery.
