Raymond Keith “Ray”’ Rosenberger, 61, of Star City, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Friday, Feb. 28, 2020. Ray was born May 23, 1958, one of five children to John Alfred and Dorothy Edna Rosenberger, of Morgantown.
Ray was a hardworking provider for his family and had more than 30 years at Mylan. He started at the main plant in 1985 and later transitioned to the Collins Ferry plant. Ray worked as a custodian, fluid bed operator, pill presser and, lastly, in research and development. He truly loved his work and took great pride in providing for his family.
While working, he attended Fairmont State and earned his Associate of Science degree in 1994. He enjoyed bowling and loved cheering on the Mountaineers. He would be watching the game on TV but always listened to Tony Caridi’s broadcast.
He loved chocolate cake, chocolate ice cream, anything chocolate and was quite fond of Snyder’s BBQ potato chips.
Ray had a witty sense of humor; he was dependable and hardworking. He was so many other things, but overall, he was a simple man. His love for his children was tremendous and knew no bounds. He will be missed. He has won his battle with cancer and is now at rest.
Ray leaves to cherish his memory his only daughter, Melissa Visger and husband Josh, of Uniontown, Pa.; sons, Brent Rosenberger, Jeremy Rosenberger and wife Shawnee and Brandon Rosenberger and wife Andraa, all of Morgantown; his former spouse, Shelley Rexroad, of Terra Alta; siblings, Joe Rosenberger, of Morgantown, Mary McIe and husband Erick, of Gaston, S.C., Bill Rosenberger and wife Jennifer, of Morgantown, and Karen Zechman and husband Dennis Sr., of Hanover, Pa. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Brenlyn Hutson, of Elkins, and Kirstyn and Garrett Rosenberger, of Morgantown, and three on the way.
Ray was preceded in death by one infant grandson, Jack Visger.
The family will receive friends at the Fred Jenkins Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. Monday, March 2, and again from noon Tuesday until time of services at 1 p.m., with Pastor Nathan Goodin officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Ray to the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment Fund.
