Betty Jane Johnson, 87, of Tunnelton, died Friday, Feb. 28, 2020, at her home with family by her side.
She was born June 12, 1932, in Tunnelton, a daughter of the late Marvin Samuel and Hazel Grace Henline Bolyard.
Mrs. Johnson was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and was a member of the Denver United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Col. Rowan Post 2345 Ladies Auxiliary, loved her cats, feeding the birds, her flowers and gardening. Family and friends looked forward to her peanut butter fudge, and she worked as a teacher’s aide for the Preston County Board of Education.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Johnson and wife, Diana, and Donnie Johnson and wife, Donna, all of Tunnelton; her brother, Bob Bolyard and wife, Sue, of Tunnelton; three grandchildren, Brian Johnson and his children, Ethan and Tara, Kyla Younker and her children, Gracie, Kaden and Avan and Ashley Britton and husband Todd and their children, Jace and Hailey; her special friends and the morning coffee crew.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Jimmy” Johnson on June 8, 2019.
Friends may call at the Browning Funeral Home in Kingwood from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4, with Pastor Tom Strahin officiating. Interment will follow in the Camp Ground Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Denver United Methodist Church in memory of Mrs. Johnson.
