Doris Mae Clise, 91, of Star City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020. She was born April 3, 1928, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Wilbur Nicholson and Estelle (Licot) Robinette.
Doris graduated from Ft. Hill High School in Cumberland, Md., in 1946. She formerly worked for Chico’s Dairy, Beaumont Glass, Sterling Faucet and retired from Mon Power.
In her retirement, she enjoyed working for the family restaurant, Ruby and Ketchy’s, and along with her husband Jack, built homes for those in need with the Mappers International. She was a 70-year member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, where she served God and the church as a deaconess and in many other capacities too numerous to mention.
She is survived by her children: Jane Dinardi and husband David, Linda Solomon and husband Bill, and David Clise; siblings, Les Nicholson and his wife Joann and Kevin Nicholson and his wife Gayle; grandchildren: Chrisi Mason and husband Bill, Kimi Keener and husband Brian, Matt Solomon and wife Jessica, Jacob Solomon and wife Emily, Adam Clise and wife Brittany and David Clise, II; great-grandchildren: Baylee Keener, Abigail Keener, Elijah Mason, Kendall Mason, Owen Mason, Gabriel Solomon, Chase Solomon, Grace Solomon, Elias Solomon, Kayden, Jaxon and Charleigh Clise.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Jack Milton Clise; daughter-in-law, Rosanna Clise; and brother, Jim Frum.
Family and friends will be received at The Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, 308 Elmhurst St., from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, March 1, and again from 11 a.m. Monday, March 2, until the time of the service at noon with Pastor Doug Miller and the Rev. David Goodin officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery.
