Perlina Shaw

Perlina “Tina” May Shaw, 85, a resident of Moatsville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, at the home of her daughter in Chuluota, Fla., after her courageous battle with cancer. Perlina was born June 23, 1934, in Galloway, a daughter of the late Stanley and Roxie (Moats) Bolyard. Perlina was united in marriage on May 7, 1955, to Harold “Banny” Ray Shaw who preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2020.

She is survived by a son, Mark Shaw and wife Tammy (Winters), of Moatsville; a daughter, Teresa Sauter and husband John, of Chuluota, Fla.; two grandchildren, Adam and Rebecca Shaw, of Moatsville; a brother, Milton Bolyard and wife Pearl, of Moatsville; a sister, Maxine Carte and husband Ed, of Moatsville; a sister-in-law, Jean Bolyard, of Morgantown; brothers-in-law, Howard Shaw and wife Etheleen of Belington, George Shaw and wife Barbara, of Grafton, and Lyal Shaw, of Michigan; and several nieces and nephews.

Perlina was preceded in death by her brother, William Bolyard. She was a graduate of Philippi High School class of 1953. Perlina was a homemaker and in earlier years had worked at Hazel Atlas, the Shirt Factory and Heck’s Department Store. She resided in Grafton until 1990 before moving to the farm. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Grafton. She enjoyed being outdoors, squirrel hunting and spending time with family. Per Perlina’s request, cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
