Melody “Mel” Sue Linch Smith, 62, of Morgantown, broke free from her mortal body on Feb. 5, 2020. Born Sept. 13, 1957, in Clarksburg, Mel was a proud small business owner, growing Cheat Lake Florist from a humble cacti shop run out of her home into a successful, beloved florist.
She leaves her daughter, Danielle Moore and husband Christopher Moore; son James “Jimmy” Smith; grandchildren, Kohen Smith, Isabella Smith, Wesley Moore and Wyatt Moore; and five siblings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Erna Mae and Emmett Arnett Linch, and brother, Howard Bradford Linch.
A memorial celebration of Melody’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 23, at Cheat Lake VFD, with light refreshments to follow.
