Edward E. Thompson, 71, of Poway, Calif., and formerly of Morgantown, passed away surrounded by loving family on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at his home in Poway, Calif.
He was born on April 19, 1948, in Morgantown. He was a 1966 graduate of Morgantown High School and a United States Marine veteran.
Ed is survived by his fiancé, Linda Silverthorn; his daughter, Maria and husband Matthew Ceglie, of Poway, Calif.; two sons, Edward Thompson and spouse Debra, of Sandy, Utah, and Jason Thompson and fiancée Heather Moore, of Morgantown; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Thompson, of Elwood, Pa., and Marty Thompson, of El Paso, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary “Penny” (Duffer) Thompson and a sister, Sue Blosser.
Visitation will be at the Poway-Bernardo Mortuary, 13243 Poway Road, Poway, CA 92064, Feb. 18 followed by burial at Miramar National Cemetery with graveside military services.
