Benny “Ben” Joe Rodeheaver, 69, of Kingwood, died on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown after a brief illness.
He was born on Nov. 5, 1950 in Albright and the son of the late Josiah “Joe” and Hazel (Rankin) Rodeheaver.
In Ben’s younger years, he owned and operated “Ben’s Home Improvement” in Kingwood. Ben and his wife, both ran a paper route for the Dominion Post for over 20 years to many areas of Preston County. He still worked his route up until his death.
Ben is survived by two stepsons, Charles “Chuck” Sawyer, of Kingwood, and Tom Sawyer and spouse Jennifer of Kingwood; four sisters, JoAnn Shay, of Newburg, Ida Loughry and spouse Sam, of Newburg, Betty Casteel, of Corinth, W.Va. and Peggy Cramer and spouse Tom, of Terra Alta; two brothers, Marvin Rodeheaver and spouse Mary, Michael Rodeheaver, all of Albright; two stepgranddaughters, Kasey Sawyer, of Kingwood, and Bethany Sawyer of Tunnelton; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Thelma (Adams) Rodeheaver, who passed the day before him; three sisters, Wanda Rodeheaver, Linda Funk and Patsy Strahin.
Friends will be received at the Rotruck-Lobb Kingwood Chapel; 295 South Price St., from 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, until the time of the funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m. with the Reverend J.W. Kelley officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Kingwood.
The family would also like to thank all the doctors and staff on the MICU floor at Ruby Memorial Hospital for all of their great care and compassion that was given to Ben and his family.
