Shirley Hose

Shirley Darlene Hose, 73, of Huntington, formerly of Morgantown, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 1, 2020. Shirley was born on May 27, 1946 in Maidsville, to Ray H. and Mildred B. (Lazzelle) Clark.

She was a loving wife to her husband Lloyd Hose since their marriage on Feb. 24, 1962. Shirley was a faithful member of Riverside Apostolic Church (Riverside Ministries) for over 40 years. She devoted her life to serving God through teaching Sunday school, participating in church fundraising activities, nursing home evangelism and being a prayer warrior.

Shirley enjoyed family gatherings, playing board games, cooking and sharing memories of the past. She was the anchor of her family, showing them unconditional love, offering a listening ear along with guidance and support in difficult times.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 57 years, Lloyd T. Hose; brother, Ron Clark; children, Steven Hose (Pamela), Brenda Gordon (Alan), and Pamela Slaughter (Andrew); eight grandchildren; Jonathan Hose, Joseph Hose, Craig Stevens, Brandon Lemasters, Jessica Gordon, Kathryn McCrobie, Alexandria Slaughter and Anna Slaughter; seven great-grandchildren; and other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray H. Clark and Mildred B. (Lazzelle) Clark and brothers, Raymond (George) Clark, Leroy Clark and Robert Clark.

Funeral services to honor her life will be held at Riverside Ministries in Westover, with visitation from noon until 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. The memorial service will be officiated by Bishop E.S. Harper. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens where her earthly body will be laid to rest. Arrangements are with Hall Funeral Home in Proctorville, Ohio.
