Alton “Lee” Mason, 51, of Masontown, died on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Lee was born May 18, 1968, in Cameron, Texas, a son of Barbara Ann (Griffin) McClain, of Dawson, Texas, and the late Donald Roy Mason, and his late stepfather, Cleland McClain.
He was a heavy equipment mechanic for Murphy Energy Blackville #2. Lee had a passion for restoring cars in his garage, drag racing, listening to music while playing the guitar, dancing and almost anything outdoors. But most of all, he loved being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Christina Lynn (Bolyard) Mason, of Masontown; three sons and spouses, Christopher and Amie Mason, of Fort Worth, Texas, Tyler Whetsell and Abby Frazier, of Morgantown, and Collin Williams, of Masontown; one daughter, Crystal Mason, of White Settlement, Texas; four brothers and spouse, Rodney Mason, of Texas; Richard Mason, of Mississippi, Troy Lascon, of Texas, Donnie and Melodi Smith of Texas; two sisters and spouses, Jennifer and Fred Adams, of Texas, and Debbie and Lucky Gamblin, of Kingwood; and four grandchildren, Blaize Mason, Vannessa Haynes, Kaedin Miller and MaKenna Miller.
In addition to his father and stepfather, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Mason.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the VFW Post #1589, 8477 Veterans Memorial Highway, Masontown, WV 26542.
