Harold Shaw

Harold Ray “Banny” Shaw, 88, a resident of Locust Grove Road. Moatsville, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020 at his residence. He was born July 9, 1931, a son of the late Charles Earl “Peck” and Opal Rebecca (Dennison) Shaw. He was united in marriage May 7, 1955, to Perlina May (Bolyard) Shaw who survives at home. Also surviving are one daughter, Teresa Sauter and husband John, of Florida; one son, Mark Shaw and wife Tammy, of Moatsville; two grandchildren, Adam and Rebecca Shaw, of Moatsville; three brothers, Howard Shaw, of Belington; Lyle Shaw, of Detroit, and George Shaw, of Grafton.

Mr. Shaw was preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Young and four brothers: William Shaw, Kenneth Shaw, David Shaw and Robert Shaw.

He retired with 38 years of service as a brakeman/conductor for B&O and CSX Railroad. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid farmer, hunter, fisherman and member of the VFW Post #3081 in Grafton.

Mr. Shaw’s wishes for cremation will be honored. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
