Jenny Elizabeth “Froggy” Rhodes, 66, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 at Mon Health Medical Center with her family by her side. She was a former resident of Unity Manor in Morgantown prior to her becoming a resident at the Madison Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 9, 1953 in Grantsville, a daughter of Phyllis J. Cason Rhodes who survives her in Morgantown, and the late Walter S. Rhodes Jr.
In addition to her mother, survivors include a brother, Walter Casey Rhodes and his wife Diane, of Morgantown; and her nephews Andrew Rhodes and wife Carissa, and Alex Rhodes, all of Morgantown, Jamison Whiston and family, of Nebraska, and Jeffrey Whiston and family, of Ohio.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Trudy Lynn Fawley.
Throughout her life, Jenny always had a special way with wild animals through her many rescues and raising them as her own. She loved spiders and other bugs but had a genuine affection for frogs and collecting anything to do with them.
In accordance with the wishes of her family, Jenny will be cremated, and a private graveside committal service will be held later at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses and doctors of Mon Health Medical Center’s 6th floor and ICU for taking Jenny under their wings and loving her, as well as the staff at Madison Rehabilitation Center.
Professional services are being provided to the family with the guidance of Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Westover/Morgantown.
