Connie S. Watson, 77, of Wadestown, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, in the Mon Health Medical Center in Morgantown.
She was born March 20, 1942, at Fairmont, a daughter of Betty Jo Tennant Shaver, a resident of the Mapleshire Nursing Home in Morgantown, and the late Victor D. Shaver.
Mrs. Watson was a retired early childhood aide for the Monongalia County Board of Education. She was a member of the retired teachers’ association, Western Mon Lions Club, AARP, Clay-Battelle Alumni Association and Bula Baptist Church.
Wifey, Mom, Grandma Connie and Miss Connie endeared our lives for 77 years. Her time with us was filled with love and music. She lived for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a large portion of the western end of the county. Through her teachings, both her kindergarten students and her music students will carry a piece of her into the future.
Surviving are three sons and their spouses, Jeffrey Watson and his wife Rita, of Core, Scott Watson and his wife Jami, of Morgantown, and Keith Watson and his wife Sheila, of Wadestown; one daughter, Teresa Khan and her husband Ali, of Buckhannon; two brothers and their spouses, Larry Shaver and his wife Lynne, of Grand Junction, Colo., and Mark Shaver and his wife Janet, of Travelers Rest, S.C.; one sister, Jane Yonaley, of Taylorsville, Ky.; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey “Dink” Watson and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Tennant Funeral Home in Hundred from 4-8 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with Pastor Drew Reveal officiating. Interment will follow in the Wadestown Cemetery.
