Lucy Ellen Varner, 67, of Miracle Run Community, Fairview, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2019, in J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born May 1, 1952, in Daybrook, a daughter of the late William Luther McCoy and Florence Foley McCoy.
Lucy formerly worked at McDonalds as a cook and at a truck stop as a dish washer.
Surviving are one son, Richard Lee McCoy, of Miracle Run; two stepsons, John Varner, of Morgantown, and Justin Varner, of Fairmont; one stepdaughter, Crystal Eddy, of Days Run; two brothers, George McCoy, of Daybrook, and Nimrod McCoy, of Days Run; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Varner; five sisters, Edna Carpenter, Nancy McCoy, Florence McCoy, Anna Pearl McCoy and Mary D. Tennant; four brothers, Tom McCoy, Dennis McCoy, Henry McCoy and Earl McCoy; and two stepsons.
Friends may call at the Owen-Neely Funeral Home in Blacksville from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Freddie Eddy II officiating. Interment will follow in the McCoy Cemetery at Daybrook.
