A Granville man is accused of choking a person who he is in a relationship with during an argument.
Terryll L. Little, 34, is charged with strangulation by the Granville Police Department.
On Christmas Eve Day, Little got into an argument with his victim, who he lives with and is in a domestic relationship with, according to a criminal complaint.
The two were planning to go shopping but the argument continued and the victim went inside, into their bedroom and locked the door, the complaint said.
Little started screaming and broke the door down, the complaint said. The victim did not respond to the argument and Little became physical, placing his hands around the victim’s neck and squeezing.
The victim said Little squeezed for about five minutes and released his grip four or five times, during which the victim was able to breathe before the attack began again, according to the complaint.
While choking the victim, Little said he loved the victim but would “kill the victim and himself if he had to,” the complaint said.
After he was done choking the victim, Little picked the person up, threw them forcefully to the ground and each time the victim tried to get up Little kicked or pushed the victim back to the ground. The victim’s cellphone was also “completely destroyed” by Little, the complaint said.
The victim was able to leave and call for help, according to the complaint.
Little was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court by Magistrate Sandy Holepit on Friday. Bond was set at $25,000 cash.
