Emilia “Edith” Watterson, 94, passed in peace Dec. 25, 2019, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Glenn William Watterson, both originally from Masontown, West Virginia, and then, Niles, Ohio. Also preceding Edith in death are her siblings, John Sylvester, Josephine Lawrence, Eglo Sylvester, Italia Sylvester and Emilio “Timber” Sylvester.
Edith is survived by her son, Glenn William “Bill” Watterson and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Watterson, Avon Lake, Ohio; three grandchildren, Craig Watterson (Susan), of Portland, Oregon, Heather Watterson of Chicago, Illinois, and Justin Watterson (Jamie ) of Belgrade, Montana and two great grandchildren, Zoe Watterson and Ruby Watterson.
Edith loved playing cards, bowling and baking, especially anything Italian. Edith and her husband, Bill, spent much time with family and enjoying their camp in Pennsylvania. Edith was known for her happy spirit, always ready for a family gathering with wonderful foods, high energy, and laughter. The family is grateful to the kind caregivers at Rae Ann Nursing Home and Crossroads Hospice.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
