Wilma Ruth Dalton, 84, of Morgantown, passed away on Dec. 24, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. Wilma was born in Preston County on Sept. 22, 1935 to the late Ruby Reckart.
Wilma spent her working days at Morgan Shirt Factory, working as a seamstress and also caring for her family.
She leaves behind daughters, Sheila Ann Harvey (Rick), Deborah Joyce Summers (Bill), and Sherry Lynn Bosley, all of Morgantown; sisters: Patty Summers, Lila Reckart and Dottie Deberry, all of Preston county; brothers: Lynn Miller, Alan Miller and John Miller, all of Preston county; grandchildren: Matthew, Brandi, Adam, Kari, Christopher, Cody, Mandy, Candy and Jason; great-grandchildren: Addisyn, McKennah, Liam, Finley, Bella, Anna, Leia, Mazzie, Willa, Michael, CJ, Skylar, Madisyn, Trevor, Javon, Tyler, Landon and Katelyn.
In addition to her mother, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Dalton; sister, Kay Summers; and a great-grandson, Robert Matthew Mercer.
Although flowers will be accepted, the family requests that donations could be made in lieu of flowers to The Alzheimer’s Association, at 1299 Pineview Drive Morgantown, WV 26505 or the Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 13067 Alexandria, VA 22312.
The family wishes to thank Sherry, for her love and care given to her mom for the last 10 years, it has been deeply appreciated by her sisters and her mom; along with Rebecca for all her love, compassion, and help in mom’s finals days. Also, a sincere thank you to Amedisys Hospice nurses, especially Jinny, for the care given to Wilma and her family.
Friends are invited to gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, and from noon on Sunday, until the 1 p.m. service with Pastor Karen Glover officiating. Burial will follow at Davis Cemetery.
