Clay-Battelle boys’ hoops still smashing doubts, downs Valley (Wetzel) 71-47

BLACKSVILLE, W.Va. — Clay-Battelle continues to shatter expectations placed upon them before the season tipped off, extending its undefeated streak to 4-0 with a big 71-57 win over Valley (Wetzel) Friday night.

Seth Casino, Levi Carrico and Coltin Barr, all found double digits in the win with Casino leading the way with 22 points. Carrico had 16, and Barr had 14. Further, Casino and Barr had perfect nights at the free throw line, combining for seven points. Carrico was 4 of 7 from the line.

Valley was paced by senior Jacob Anderson with 18 points, while juniors Thomas Shannon (11) and Gavin Streets (10) combined for 21 more.

Clay-Battelle returns to action on Monday with a home game against South Harrison at 7:30 p.m.
