A 35-year-old woman was found guilty of sexually assaulting a juvenile relative after a second trial.
Sarah Elizabeth Webber was retried this week after a jury failed to deliver a unanimous verdict on counts of sexual abuse by a parent and first-degree sexual abuse following an October trial.
That jury did convict Webber of domestic assault, a misdemeanor, and found her not guilty of first-degree sexual assault.
On Thursday, a jury found Webber guilty on both sexual abuse by a parent and first-degree sexual abuse, according to the Monongalia County Victim’s Assistance Program.
“We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the jury in this case to ensure justice was done on behalf of the children involved in this case,” Monongalia County Prosecutor Perri DeChristopher said.
Webber was taken into custody following the verdict.
